Collected Information
HyperMemo uses your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server. Your IP address is used to gather broad demographic information.

This site contains links to other sites. HyperMemo is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites. HyperMemo recommends you refer to each Web site's Privacy Statements.

HyperMemo uses an order form for visitors to request information, products, and services. We collect visitor contact information (like their email address) and customer financial information (like their account or credit card numbers). The customer's contact information is used to get in touch with the customer for billing purposes only. Financial information that is collected is used to bill the user for products and services. HyperMemo's use of visitor contact information only includes HyperMemo's enterprise customers and potential customers, and not information from our customers' email lists.

HyperMemo uses a contact form for visitors to request information or to be contacted. When provided, we collect visitor names, phone numbers, and email addresses. The visitor's contact information is used to get in touch with the visitor only as requested. HyperMemo's use of visitor contact information only includes HyperMemo's enterprise customers and potential customers, and not information from our customers' email lists.

Each client will be notified via email, telephone or postal mail relating to any changes regarding the use of sensitive client information by HyperMemo. Written or active email consent by the individual user will be required.
 

Sharing Information
HyperMemo does not rent, sell, or share your personal information (including email addresses and your list member information) with other people or nonaffiliated companies except to provide products or services you've requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:

• We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.
• We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of HyperMemo's terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.
• In the event of a sale, merger, liquidation, dissolution, reorganization or acquisition of HyperMemo or a HyperMemo business or business unit, information may be transferred together with its business operations.
   

Supplementation of Information
HyperMemo does not supplement your information with any outside third parties.
 

Security
The HyperMemo Web site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Sensitive data, such as credit card information, collected through HyperMemo's Web site is transferred via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) server only. HyperMemo employees are made aware of all security policies and are maintaining and protecting your personally identifiable information.

Choice / Opt-In
HyperMemo provides opt-in opportunities for all email lists that you choose to receive. We use your email addresses to confirm your subscription and validity of the provided addresses. Your reply to the confirmation emails are necessary for completing your subscription to any email list.

HyperMemo will not send any emails to list members other than the content distributed via the list administrator.
 

Choice / Opt-Out
HyperMemo provides its users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us. We offer users the following options for removing their information from our database, to not receive future communications or to no longer receive our service.

Correct / Update
Change the email address that you have subscribed with by first unsubscribing with your current email address. Then, resubscribe with your new email address. All email list welcome messages contain the information necessary for subscription and removal from their appropriate list. HyperMemo also provides the following contact information for modifying information previously provided.

Unsubscribe
HyperMemo provides unsubscribe / opt-out opportunities for all email lists that you choose to receive. All email list welcome messages contain the information necessary for removal from the list. Removal from all lists is instant and automated by our servers.
 

Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.

If, however, we are going to use users' personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify users via email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. However, if users have opted out of all communication with the site, or deleted/deactivated their account, then they will not be contacted, nor will their personal information be used in this new manner. In addition, if we make any material changes in our privacy practices that do not affect user information already stored in our database, we will post a prominent notice on our Web site notifying users of the change. In some cases where we post a notice we will also email users, who have opted to receive communications from us, notifying them of the changes in our privacy practices.
